Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday hit back at Akhilesh Yadav’s warning that he will order all “bulldozers” to the CM’s home district of Gorakhpur after 2027, saying not everyone has the heart and character to handle a bulldozer.

Adityanath made the comment in response to the Samajwadi Party chief’s Tuesday comment on the bulldozer, the machine that has become a symbol of his style of governance.

“As soon as the Samajwadi government is formed in 2027, bulldozers from across the state will be heading towards Gorakhpur,” Yadav said.

Adityanath said only those with “excavator-like capacity” can operate it.

“Today, these people have come back with a new way to deceive the public. Not everyone can handle a bulldozer. It takes heart and mind. Only someone with the ability and determination of a bulldozer can handle it. Those who bow down to the troublemakers will not be able to stand in front of a bulldozer,” he said during a letter-distribution event.

The CM also made a pun on Yadav’s nickname saying, “Now ‘Tipu’ is also trying to become a ‘Sultan’.”

He said Yadav’s ambition to return to power in Uttar Pradesh is nothing but a pipe dream and accused the former chief minister and his uncle Shivpal Yadav of indulging in extortion during their rule.

“Earlier there was a competition among the ‘chacha-bhatija’ to extort money. Areas were divided among them. I can see that at present some man-eating wolves are creating havoc in different districts.

“More or less the same situation existed in the state before 2017,” Adityanath said.
