Golden Brar He is a Canada-based gangster and the alleged mastermind behind the murder of the Punjabi singer Sidhu MoosewalaBrar was in the news after his name surfaced in a case related to Moosewala’s murder. The central government declared him a terrorist in January this year.
Brar is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi Banda. It is noteworthy that Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in Tihar Jail in Delhi. Hours after Moosewala’s murder on May 29, 2022, Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the shooting. According to Brar, he had planned the plot to kill Moosewala along with Bishnoi.
Who is Goldy Brar?
Brar, a native of Faridkot in Punjab, came to Canada on a student visa in 2017. Interestingly, he is the son of a former Punjab Police officer. His father, Shamsher Singh, was an Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Punjab Police.
While claiming responsibility for Moosewala’s murder, Brar had said in a Facebook post, “Sachin Bishnoi Dhattaranwali, Lawrence Bishnoi and I are behind the murder of Sidhu Moosewala.” According to the 1,850-page chargesheet filed in the Moose Wala murder case, Goldy Brar was the mastermind behind the murder. Brar claimed that he got Moose Wala killed to avenge the death of another student leader, Vicky Middukhera.
Goldy Brar also claimed responsibility for the murder of Dera follower Pardeep Singh Kataria in Kotkapura in 2022. He is also allegedly involved in an extortion racket running in Punjab and is believed to have been involved in the murder of Youth Congress leader Gurlal Pehalwan. In May last year, he appeared on Canada’s most wanted list.
