Pune-based sportstech startup Spolto raises $1 million in seed round

Pune-based sports technology startup Spolto has raised $1 million (roughly Rs. 8.4 crore) in seed funding funds round led by Andrew Johnston (co-founder and CEO of Swedish startup LetsShare), sports enthusiasts and others investors From India and Sweden.

The startup plans to use the capital raised to expand its services and reach more urban communities.

Who are the founders?

Founded in 2021 by Safa Soltani (CEO) and Divesh Nathani (COO), Spolto aims to expand access and development of sport across urban India.

The startup’s vision is to integrate sport into the daily lives of urban communities by providing easier access to various sporting activities.

“At Spolto, we are committed to expanding access to sports in urban India, helping people of all ages and backgrounds discover the joy and benefits of sports. This funding will enable us to grow our platform and empower more people to embrace an active lifestyle,” the founders said.

Offering a wide range of sports.

Currently, Spolto’s platform offers various sports, such as badminton, tennis, swimming, and gymnastics. In addition, the startup also offers new-age games, such as pickleball, to cater to the interests of new-age urban athletes.

It aims to promote the development of grassroots sport and the development of recreational skills, making sport an integral part of the daily lives of people in urban areas.

Since its launch, Spolto has established partnerships with over 1,200 coaches and sports academies in Maharashtra, spanning 12 different sports.
