Massive landslide in Pherima village claims six lives & causes extensive damage

Due to the incessant rain over the past few weeks and cloud bursta massive landslide has happened in Winter Six people have died in the village.

The six people who lost their lives included Kriesangulie Samir Dutta, Sonhie, Daju, Bijay and Sopon Biswas, besides hotels that were destroyed along with five trucks, 11 light motor vehicles and a two-wheeler that were damaged by the landslide.

A total of 15 SDRF personnel were deployed for the rescue operation, besides the DDMA Chumukedima, the District Administration was involved in the search and rescue. rescue operation and recovered the missing body.

Meanwhile, DC Chumoukedima has also issued a travel advisory to take extreme caution and take alternative routes.
