CSJMU PhD Admission 2024: Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, also known as Kanpur University, has extended the last date for admission to the PhD programme. Now students can apply for PhD admission till 25th September 2024. The last date is very close so candidates should apply as soon as possible. To apply, the candidate should visit the official website csjmu.ac.in.
Kanpur University has invited applications for admission to a total of 555 PhD seats in 50 subjects. Admission will be given in 168 seats in various departments of the university and 387 seats in its affiliated colleges.
According to the official communication released by the university, the duration of the PhD course will be three years, including coursework, and a maximum of six years. If a student fails to submit his/her thesis within six years from the date of registration, he/she will cease to be a student of the University and will lose the rights and facilities granted to a regular student. Apart from this, his/her registration will also be automatically cancelled. There is a two-year relaxation for women and disabled candidates.
Ability-
1. For admission, 70 percent weightage will be given on the basis of entrance test and 30 percent weightage on the basis of interview/oral examination.
2. The candidate must have secured at least 50 per cent marks in the CSJMU entrance test. A relaxation of 5 per cent will be provided to candidates from SC, ST and OBC reserved categories.
An additional seat/preference will be given to candidates who register under the PhD scheme in these categories:
1. Candidates who are single girls.
2. Dependent on the martyr
3. Candidates who will be specially/differently disabled (autism, visual impairment).
