Odisha Crime News: In Oormai Panchayat Khatangtoli of Bisra block located on the Odisha-Jharkhand border, a lover strangled his girlfriend and dumped her body in the forest. According to information from local villagers, the police arrested the accused within hours of recovering the body.
A distant uncle loved Sanjana.
The body has been identified as that of 20-year-old Sanjana. Bandhan Kumar, accused of murder, was considered a distant maternal uncle of the deceased and loved her. He works as a labourer in Gujarat and had just arrived in Bisra. After reaching Bisra last Saturday, he headed towards the forest with Sanjana.

Police investigation revealed that Bandhan had left the spot after killing Sanjana by strangling her with a chunni. On Sunday, villagers informed the police after seeing the dead body in the forest. Following which this fact came to light in the investigation. The accused told the police that he suspected that Sanjana was having an affair with someone else, following which he committed the crime. Following the complaint of the deceased’s father, a case was registered at Bisra police station and the accused was arrested and produced before the court.
