“With Amazon’s breadth of capabilities and commitment to nurturing talent, we are confident that this synergy will unlock new employment opportunities for the country’s youth,” said Union Minister for Labor and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya. In a separate statement, the minister said, “We are in the process of upgrading the NCS portal. The upgraded platform will offer a more user-friendly interface for job seekers, employers and stakeholders, using advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.”
The collaboration also involves organizing job fairs at Model Career Centers (MCC), where job seekers will have the opportunity to interact directly with Amazon’s hiring teams, according to the statement.
The ministry will also help Amazon hold job fairs across the country.
“A key aspect of the MoU is its focus on inclusion. The association prioritizes promoting employment opportunities for women and divyang candidates, ensuring equal access to jobs,” he said.
Amazon India employs over 1.2 lakh people in various functions, including operational functions such as fulfillment centres, distribution centers and customer service, as well as corporate functions such as software development, human resources, program management, machine learning data and seller support.
It recently announced more than 110,000 seasonal job opportunities ahead of its holiday sales.
