NMC invites applications for new postgraduate courses in medicine, check eligibility

National Medical Commission, National Center for Medicine The Medical Assessment and Grading Board (MARB) is inviting applications from established medical schools for the introduction of new postgraduate medical courses. It is also considering increasing the number of places in existing programmes for the academic year 2025-2026. Applications can be submitted until 17 October 2024.
To be eligible to apply, medical institutions must comply with the NMC regulations, Medical Standards Regulation (MSR) guidelines and relevant notices issued by the NMC and other authorities. Medical colleges/institutions are directed to upload the following three documents in PDF format in the online application form:
- Valid Certificate of Essentiality (CE) in the prescribed form for the commencement of new postgraduate medical courses in an established medical institution, establishing a new postgraduate medical institution (independent postgraduate institute) under the heading/column “Certificate of Essentiality” (as per Annexure 1).
- Valid Consent to Affiliate (CoA) in the prescribed form (as per Schedule 2) and
- Justification of the number of places requested (according to Annex 3)
All applications must be completed online; hard copies will not be accepted. It is important to note that each course application requires payment of a separate fee and it is necessary to ensure that all documents have been uploaded correctly before submitting the application.
“The medical college or institution inviting the above types of applications shall strictly comply with the NMC regulations, MSR guidelines and relevant orders, notices and circulars issued by the NMC and other authorities from time to time,” the NMC said, requesting applicants to fill the online applications as per the attached guidance document.
