Police recruitment will soon be conducted in 1.22 lakh posts in Bihar, CM Nitish Kumar has instructed.

Government Jobs: The state government is focusing a lot on crime control in Bihar. In this series, police officers will soon be reinstated in 1 lakh 22 thousand 703 posts in the state. CM Nitish Kumar mentioned this at the high-level review meeting of the Home Department on law and order on Saturday. CM said that law and order in the state is the top priority of the government and reinstating police officers in these posts will further facilitate maintaining better law and order.

1,22,703 vacancies

In this meeting, the Chief Minister said that in order to increase the strength of Bihar Police, 2,29,139 posts have been sanctioned under various categories. Out of which 1,06,436 police officers are currently employed. The remaining 1,22,703 vacant posts should be filled up immediately. Restoration of vacant posts will help in curbing crime. CM said that 35% reservation for women in the police has been provided for since 2013. Currently, the number of women in Bihar Police has reached 30,000.

Women’s participation in Bihar police is highest in the country

The Chief Minister said that the participation of women in the Bihar Police is the highest in the country. The increase in the number of women in the police force has provided comfort to women who approach police stations with complaints. Their problems are also being resolved better, which has boosted their self-confidence. Therefore, appointments to the vacant posts should be made at the earliest.

Strict action will be taken against negligent police officers

While giving directions to the officers at the meeting, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that there should not be any kind of negligence in patrolling. Increase night patrolling. To make night and foot patrols more effective, senior officers should personally go to the area and conduct surprise inspections at night. He said that crime investigation work should be expedited and completed on time, so that immediate action can be taken against the culprits. The police administration should take strict measures to maintain law and order and control crime. Strict action should be taken against policemen who are negligent in their work.
