Viral News: A 30-year-old employee working at a factory in Thailand died a day after her manager allegedly rejected her request for sick leave.
The deceased, identified as May, collapsed at work. The incident occurred in Sukhothai, Thailand, where he worked at an electronics plant called Delta Electronics.
May had reportedly been on sick leave from September 5 to 9 after being diagnosed with inflammation of the large intestine. Her friend claimed that May presented a medical certificate of her sick leave and was admitted to hospital for four days.
Even after being discharged, May’s condition did not improve and she took two additional days of rest.
On September 12, he requested more sick leave as his health had worsened. However, his manager denied the request and asked for another medical certificate before granting him further leave.
Fearing she would lose her job, May returned to work the next day. However, just 20 minutes after reporting to work, she collapsed and was rushed to hospital for surgery. She passed away the next day.
This shocking incident took place at a time of growing concern for the well-being of employees in Thailand.
The company took to Facebook and stated: “Delta Electronics is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of one of its team members. “The company extends its deepest thoughts and condolences to his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.”
Victor Cheng, CEO of Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL, added: “At Delta Electronics, our people are the foundation of our success and we are devastated by this loss. “Our priority is to provide unwavering support to the employee’s family at this difficult time.”

“Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no further details can be provided at this time. Delta Electronics appreciates the public’s patience and understanding and respectfully requests the public not to speculate further and instead provide the family with privacy during this sensitive period,” said the publication concluded.
