In the dimly lit corridors of Rotherham’s Museum of Haunted Objects in South Yorkshire, a seemingly ordinary doll has become the centre of creepy and disturbing stories. Dubbed the “world’s most haunted doll”, Elizabeth has gained a notorious reputation for her alleged hostility towards men.
Elizabeth, a doll with a haunting history, is said to be possessed by the spirit of an abandoned bride. The doll is said to have attacked 17 men, leaving some with physical injuries. This chilling story has captured the attention of paranormal enthusiasts and researchers.
Lee Steer bought the doll for £866
Lee Steer, a 37-year-old paranormal investigator, bought Elizabeth for £866 (roughly Rs 95,100) on eBay after learning of her notorious reputation. Steer, who now owns the haunted doll, has shared several disturbing accounts of Elizabeth’s behaviour. According to Steer, the doll’s attacks are exclusively aimed at men, a phenomenon that adds to her sinister appeal.
“It seems that the doll hates men,” says the owner
Steer has also been a victim of the doll’s aggression. During an investigation in the museum’s bridal doll room, she experienced a burning sensation on her neck and discovered scratches on her back that resembled a pentagram. “It seems the doll hates men. There have been over 15 people who have come to me to tell me they have been scratched by it. It has attacked all men and never a woman,” Steer told the New York Post. Her partner, Sarah Carter, has since avoided the bridal doll room due to her discomfort with Elizabeth’s presence.
This is what you need to know most
In addition to physical attacks, Elizabeth is said to cause various disturbances. Steer reported that the doll set off fire alarms, moved objects around the room, and even threw a perfume bottle across the room. During a paranormal investigation, Elizabeth caused interference in video footage, with the words “bride” and “haunting” appearing repeatedly.
Jon-Paul Kenny, another paranormal investigator, also experienced disturbing encounters with Elizabeth while filming a TikTok live session at the museum. Kenny described feeling someone grab his shirt and touch his skin, and attributed these sensations to the doll. “I felt like someone was grabbing my shirt and touching my skin. It was 100% the bridal doll that did this to me,” Kenny recalled.
The motives behind Elizabeth’s aggressive behavior remain unclear. Some speculate that her actions are due to jealousy, particularly after the museum acquired a famous artifact from the horror film series. The spellwhich features the infamous possessed doll, Annabelle. “Why she (Elizabeth) does that is a mystery. Some people think a man treated her badly and others think her wedding went wrong, so she’s stalking a bridal doll,” Steer explained.
Steer further suggested that Elizabeth’s behaviour might be motivated by a sense of being overshadowed. “We have famous objects from The spell Now, perhaps she feels a little forgotten and is making herself known in the most extreme way. I suspect that she is the most haunted doll,” he concluded.
As Elizabeth continues to attract attention with her chilling antics, the Museum of Haunted Objects remains a site of intrigue and fear, with visitors and researchers eager to uncover the truth behind the “world’s most haunted doll.”
