More resignations and appointments are expected in the coming days after five ministers quit on Tuesday, in what a senior ally President Volodymyr Zelenskiy seen as the beginning of a pre-winter government “reset.”
Kuleba’s resignation letter was posted on Facebook by Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk.
Parliament’s speaker said lawmakers would discuss the request shortly. Parliament is expected to vote on the resignations later on Wednesday in what is usually a political formality.
Zelenskiy has said the changes in the government, coming at a crucial moment in the large-scale conflict, are necessary to strengthen it and achieve the results Ukraine needs.
“Autumn will be extremely important for Ukraine. And our state institutions must be set up in such a way that Ukraine achieves all the results we need, for all of us,” he said on Tuesday.
