IIM Calcutta: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has issued a warning to CAT 2024 aspirants against fake websites claiming to represent CAT or IIM Calcutta. The official notification emphasises that the only valid website for CAT 2024 is iimcat.ac.in, and no other website should be used for information, registration or submission of CAT 2024 application form.
Identifying Fraudulent CAT Center Website
In a notification issued by IIM Calcutta, it is said that candidates appearing for the CAT exam should be wary of fake websites that resemble the original CAT 2024 website. IIM Calcutta has stated in its official notification that the CAT Centre had identified a fraudulent website that was trying to dupe applicants and collect their personal information by posing as the official registration portal.
The only authentic CAT website
The notification issued by IIM reads, ‘Please note that this is the only authentic website for CAT 2024, https://iimcat.ac.in, as announced publicly and for CAT 2024 application form. There is no other website for information or registration/submission. We urge all applicants and interested parties to be cautious and visit our official website only and not fall prey to any fake or malicious websites involved in phishing/pharming, which look similar to the official CAT website.
Registrations for the CAT are still ongoing
The registration process for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024, which provides admission to PG management programmes at IIMs and other top-tier B-schools, is currently underway. The last date to apply for this exam is September 13, 2024. While registering, candidates must ensure that they declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and mobile number throughout the selection process. CAT 2024 is scheduled to be conducted on November 24, 2024, in a computer-based format in three sessions. Once the registration is completed, IIM Calcutta will issue the admit card between November 5 and November 24. After the exam, the result of CAT 2024 is expected to be declared in the second week of January 2025.
