India’s favourite MPV, KIA Carnival is set to be launched once again with a new look. Actually, Kia Carnival was discontinued in 2023 due to not meeting BS6 Stage-2 emission standards. But now, very soon, it may be launched in India under the name KA4. In which it will be introduced with many updates including new styling, a new interior, and a new hybrid powertrain option.

KIA Carnival: features

The cabin of the new Carnival is expected to have two types of seating configurations that include 7-seater and 9-seater versions. Kia will also update the interior of the Carnival MPV with many new features. These will include a dual-screen display set up with a new 12.3-inch infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. The driver screen sizes in global markets range from 4.2 to 12.3 inches, depending on the variant. Apart from these two features, the new Carnival can also be offered with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charger, automatic climate control, 360-degree camera, head-up display, ADAS technology, rear infotainment screen, and other features.

KIA Carnival: Engine

The Carnival MPV can be offered with three engine options. In global markets, the MPV is offered with 3.5-litre petrol, 1.6-litre petrol hybrid and 2.2-litre diesel engine options. The petrol engine mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox is capable of generating 287 bhp of power and 352 Nm of peak torque. The hybrid variant, which features a 54 kWh battery, can generate 242 bhp of power and 367 Nm of peak torque. The 2.2-litre diesel engine, which was previously used for the Indian-spec Carnival, is likely to continue.

KIA Carnival: Design

Kia has updated the design of the Carnival MPV with bolder styling in its fourth-generation iteration. In its new avatar, the Carnival MPV will get a new front grille flanked by slim, vertically oriented LED headlamp units along with a new L-shaped LED DRL cluster. The MPV also features updated bumpers and wider air intakes. On the sides, the Carnival will get new 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels. The changes are also visible at the rear where the MPV features LED taillamps and a redesigned bumper.

KIA Carnival: price

Before being discontinued last year, the Carnival MPV was priced between Rs 29.65 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 40.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming new-generation model will be priced higher. It is expected to start at Rs 40 lakh.
