Now the KIA EV9, one of the most luxurious electric cars in the world, has been launched in India. Previously, Kia had launched its sister crossover EV6 in India in 2022. The KIA EV9 is famous all over the world and this car also bagged the title of Best Electric Car of the Year. The EV9 measures 5,015 mm long, 5,015 mm wide and 1,780 mm high. Its wheelbase is 3,100 mm.

KIA EV9: Design and features

The KIA EV9 large electric SUV will be offered in a fully equipped GT-Line version with a standard 6-seat layout. Despite its boxy silhouette, the EV9 has a very futuristic design with highlights like a digital lighting grille surrounded by pixelated LED headlights that Kia calls Ice Cube LED projector headlights.

The futuristic theme is also present inside the cabin, with Kia’s signature dual-screen display on the multi-layered dashboard. Being a flagship, the EV9 is quite impressive when it comes to features. Highlights include a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, digital IRVM, dual-pane sunroof, connected car technology with over-the-air (OTA) updates, captain’s chairs in the second row with massage function, 14 speakers. KIA EV9: Safety Features

In terms of safety, the Kia EV9 comes with Level 2 ADAS features along with 27 safety features like lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control.

Kia EV9: powertrain specifications

The Indian-spec EV9 is offered with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup that develops a combined power of 379 PS and 700 Nm of torque. The electric motors draw power from a 99.8 kWh battery that offers an ARAI-certified range of 561 km on a single charge. In terms of performance, the EV9 is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 5.3 seconds.

The EV9 also has multiple driving modes such as Eco, Normal and Sport. The battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 24 minutes using a DC fast charger. Kia has not provided further details on charging, but it takes 24 minutes to charge to 80 percent and the actual range is about 450 kilometers.
