India’s best-selling hatchback will now make waves in South Africa

Suzuki Swift: Suzuki will soon be introducing the fourth generation of the Swift in South Africa. While it shares many similarities with the Indian model, the main difference is that instead of an AMT gearbox, the South African Swift will be offered with a CVT option.

Suzuki Swift: Trim

The sporty hatchback will be available in three trim levels – GL, GL+ and GLX. Pricing information will be announced closer to its launch, which is expected to take place next February in South Africa. Interestingly, this version of the Swift is actually manufactured in India.

If you want to buy an electric car this festival season, you can go for Tata or MG.

Suzuki Swift: engine

Under the hood, the South African Swift is powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 81 horsepower and 112 Newton-meters of torque. While a 5-speed manual transmission is standard, the top-spec GLX version gets a CVT.

Suzuki Swift: feature

In terms of features, the South African Swift offers a similar package as its Indian counterpart. This includes a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity, automatic headlights, electrically adjustable and folding mirrors, cruise control, keyless entry, automatic climate control and push-button start.

Suzuki Swift: Safety features

Lower models may have a smaller touchscreen or manual air conditioning. Safety features such as airbags, hill hold control, ABS, electronic stability control, seat belts and child seat anchors are standard on all variants.

This car with a range of 331 km will destroy Tata and Mahindra electric cars!
