UPSC Civil Services Main Exam Admit Card Released, See When and Which Paper, Career News

UPSC has released the admit cards of the candidates for the Civil Services Main Examination 2024. Candidates can download the admit card by visiting the official website of UPSC upsc.gov.in. The link to download the admit card will be available from September 13, 2024 to September 29, 2024. The Civil Services Main Examination will begin from September 20. The UPSC Civil Services Main Examination will be held in two shifts daily on September 20, 21, 22, 28, and 29, 2024. The first shift examination will be held from 9 am to 12 noon, while the second shift examination will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

14627 candidates who have cleared UPSC CSE prelims will appear in the mains exam. The result of prelims was announced on July 1. 1056 vacancies in central government services and departments will be filled through UPSC Civil Services 2024 exam.

9 am to 12 am – Test-1, Essay

2:30 to 5:00 pm – Paperless.

September 21st

9 am to 12 am – Test-2, GS – 1

14:30 to 17:00 – Test-3, GS-2

September 22

9 am to 12 am – Test-4, GS-3

14:30 to 17:00 – Test-5, GS-IV

September 28th

9 am to 12 am – Indian Language

2:30 to 5:00 pm – Test-B, English

September 29th

9 am to 12 am – Test-6 Optional subject – Test-1

2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Work-7 – Optional topic Work-2

There are 180 vacancies for IAS as per UPSC CSE 2024 out of which 73 seats are unreserved. 24 are reserved for SC, 13 ST, 52 OBC and 18 for EWS. In IPS, there are 150 vacancies out of which 60 are unreserved. 23 seats are reserved for SC, 10 ST, 42 OBC and 15 EWS category. Talking about IFS, 55 seats will be filled under this service from CSE 2024. 23 seats are unreserved. 9 seats are reserved for SC, 5 seats for ST, 13 for OBC and 5 for EWS. Through UPSC exam (UPSC CSE 2024 Notification), officers will be selected for other all-India services including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS).

Those who pass UPSC Mains proceed to the Interview (Personality Test). The final merit list is prepared on the basis of performance in the interview and the mains exam. The mains exam is of 1750 marks and the interview is of 275 marks.
