UGC NET exam to be held again at this UP centre, students created a backlog due to irregularities in UGC NET exam

Alleging irregularities in the UGC NET examination, candidates created a ruckus at Ghanshyam Singh College in Mohaan, Cholapur on Wednesday. The students also alleged loss of paper due to delay in the start of the exam and the exam being started without seating all the candidates. During this, a blockade was staged on the Varanasi-Azamgarh highway. In view of the ruckus, the second shift exam at the college was cancelled.

A centre was also set up at Mohavon, Cholapur, for the online entrance exam of UGC NET. Candidates who came to appear for the second shift exam on Wednesday said that the exam of some of them was started without registering them or giving them seats.

Following this, the angry students started creating ruckus in front of the college. On receiving information, the force from Cholapur police station arrived. Seeing the growing commotion, ACP Sarnath also reached Chaubepur and Sarnath forces, pacified the students and removed them from the road. However, the students again started creating ruckus in front of the college. Members associated with the management said that the agency had chosen the college as a centre for the online examination.

Following the cancellation of the exam at Mohanv-based Ghanshyam Singh College of Education, the NTA issued a clarification late in the evening. The NTA has cited a technical glitch in the matter as the reason. The notification has provided information about the possibility of re-conducting this exam and releasing the date information separately.

Government investigation demand

Azad Adhikar Seva National President Amitabh Thakur has demanded that the government take immediate cognizance of the allegations based on information from candidates Hemant Kumar and Saurabh Bharti. He has posted a post in this regard on X.
