Challenges often strengthen a person to the extent that they can face anything in life. One such warrior is Archana Patel, a taxi driver from Ahmedabad. Her story went viral on social media after a customer shared her inspiring experience and the challenges she overcame.
A customer recently shared that he had booked an Ola cab and was surprised to find a female driver. He had seen female auto drivers in his city but had never seen a female Ola driver before.
During the conversation, Archana shared her story with the young man, which she later posted on social media.

“Today in Ahmedabad, I booked an Ola cab to the railway station. The confirmation message mentioned the driver’s name as Archana Patel. This was Archana, an extraordinary woman. Driving an Ola cab may not seem like a big deal, but the way she drove with such ease and skill made me happy. Driving from the Old City to the Ahmedabad Railway Station, navigating through crowds and chaotic traffic, is always a challenging task. This is what attracted me even more. More importantly, I met a female driver for the first time on Ola or Uber. In Surat, I have seen female auto drivers, but I had never availed the services of a female Ola or Uber driver.
You might think there is nothing significant in this, but her story is remarkable. Her husband was an Ola driver and due to health problems he could no longer work. There was still an outstanding loan for the taxi. So Archana decided to drive for Ola herself. She didn’t even know how to ride a bike. She learned to drive and got a license in six months. Getting a license and passing the driving test in Gujarat It is not an easy task.
I don’t want to present Archana’s story as an example of female empowerment or a society in transformation. Today I met someone who did not let herself be defeated by difficulties.”
The post quickly went viral with many people commenting that Archana is indeed a superwoman.
