Informing about this, Additional Director of Agriculture Department VK Sisodia said that the central government has provided random data of 10 lakh farmers in Uttar Pradesh. We have been asked to verify their eligibility as per the scheme norms, to ensure that only genuine beneficiaries can get the benefits of the scheme.

When was the PM-Kisan scheme started?

Under the PM-Kisan scheme, the Modi government at the Centre provides annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000 to eligible farmers in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months. It does not matter how large the farmer’s agricultural land is. The scheme money is directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

Which type of farmers are not eligible for PM-Kisan Programme?

Farmers who are serving or retired government employees, financially well off or paying taxes are not eligible to register or receive benefits under this scheme. Over 10 lakh farmers in Uttar Pradesh are believed to be availing the scheme by violating rules. These farmers are asked to return the amount deposited in their bank accounts.
