Lucknow: Anika Rastogia 19-year-old law student from Ram Manohar Lohia National Law UniversityShe was found unconscious in her bedroom at the residence late last night. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Anika, who was in her third year of a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), was the daughter of Santosh Rastogian IPS officer who serves as Inspector General in the National Research Agency (NIA). According to sources, Anika had a history of medical problems since childhood, including undergoing at least three heart surgeries.
Local police have reported that no visible wound marks have been found on the woman’s body and the family has not filed any complaint at this time. Preliminary information indicates that her death could be attributed to cardiac arrest, given her current medical condition.
Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University said in a statement, “It is a very sad news that Anika Rastogi, a third year BA LLB (Hons) student, has passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 10 pm last night. Her untimely demise has cast a shadow of grief on the entire Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University family. The university community is with the family of Anika Rastogi during this period of mourning and prays for the peace of her departed soul.”
The university has extended its deepest condolences and support to Anika’s family during this period of mourning. Further details regarding the cause of death will be clarified pending a medical examination and investigation.
