Muzaffarpur: The Excise Department has taken major action in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. A tanker with the inscription Bharat Petroleum was caught in the area of ​​Mushahari police station, which was smuggling liquor in the style of the movie ‘Pushpa’. Cellars were built inside the tanker. Liquor was hidden in them. As soon as the Muzaffarpur police entered this tanker, the secret of ‘Pushpa’ was revealed. The police team has recovered a huge quantity of illicit liquor from the tanker. This liquor was smuggled from Arunachal Pradesh. It is said to be worth over Rs 30 lakh.

Five cellars were built inside the tanker.

The incident took place at Raghunathpur village under Mushahari police station area. The Excise Department had received information that liquor was being secretly transported in a tanker. Based on the information, the department’s team conducted a raid near Raghunathpur village. On spotting the team, the liquor smugglers managed to escape. On investigation, it was found that five separate basements were constructed in the tanker, in which more than 250 cartons of liquor were hidden. Three vehicles – a pickup, a tempo and a Bolero – were also present at the spot to unload the liquor.

The liquor had to be supplied in different places.

The Excise Department has seized all three vehicles, including the tanker. While the liquor smugglers managed to escape from the spot, the department is trying to identify the absconding smugglers. The plan of the Bihar liquor mafia was to supply liquor from here to different places.

District Excise Department inspector Shivendra Kumar said, ‘Action has been taken on the basis of secret information. A Bengal number tanker has been seized. A huge quantity of liquor was hidden inside it in five different chambers. The liquor traders are being identified and action is being taken. Three vehicles, a van, a cargo tempo and a Bolero, which were called to unload the liquor from the spot, have been seized. Further action is being taken.
