33% of single Indians prefer simple, thoughtful dates over lavish plans | Relationship News

As the rainy season reaches its peak and the festive period approaches, Bumble and Zepto are making it easier than ever for singles to plan unforgettable dates at home. According to Bumble’s survey, the “Consider a Date” trend is on the rise, with 33% of Indian singles now choosing quiet, meaningful dates over elaborate outings. This trend highlights a growing preference for simpler, more intimate moments.

The brand’s collaboration with Zepto gives users instant access to creative date ideas and essential supplies with just a click. From grocery shopping together to spontaneous date night preparations, this partnership caters to the needs of the 65% of single Indian millennials who prioritize food preferences on their dating profiles.

Below, Ruchi Ruuh, Bumble’s India Relationship Expert, shares some fun and easy tips on how singles in India can take advantage of Zepto and Bumble’s partnership to “consider dating” this cozy season:

Prepare a date night: Don’t feel like going out? This rainy season is a perfect opportunity for singles to stay home and plan a nice dinner where both partners can choose the ingredients and add a touch of love. In fact, 32% of Indian singles prefer to take care of their partners when they are sick and cook for them. Home-cooked meals are a wonderful way to enjoy each other’s company while exploring shared food options.

Mix in a little romance: If you’re not a fan of cooking, don’t worry. You and your date can spice things up by following some cocktail (or mocktail) recipes that will leave you both feeling accomplished at the end of the night. According to Bumble’s recent survey, 73% of single Indians believe that one of the best ways to bond when dating is through food, so gather the ingredients through the Zepto app and whip up an amazing concoction (and maybe even some chemistry) together.

Magical Movie Marathon: Decide between the eternal question of whether you can eat cheese popcorn or caramel popcorn and dive into a movie marathon at home. The majority (77%) of Indian respondents believe that shared movie-watching experiences are important when dating someone. With content just a click away, movie marathons are a clear hit, with 74% of single Indians surveyed saying that binge-watching movies or web series is a great way to date. To make the experience even more fun, decide on a theme beforehand and have each person recommend a movie of their choice for the evening. This relaxed, yet bond-building idea is another way to “consider a date.”

Shine together: Relax with a face mask session and swap music playlists as you pamper each other with some self-care. A little relaxation can go a long way in strengthening your connection. According to a recent survey, 68% of Indian singles agree that self-care activities like these can bring couples closer together. So why not take the time to shine together? To make it even more special, pick a theme for your playlist – perhaps songs that remind you of each other or tracks from your favourite memories.

Artistic expressions: Grab a canvas and your preferred art tools (crayons, paintbrushes, or classic paints) and start painting your story together. The majority (65%) of Indian singles believe that engaging in creative activities can strengthen emotional bonds. Now that you have art supplies at your disposal, this creative date idea is a great way to connect and have fun. To make it even more interesting, both partners can draw, paint, or sketch something that reflects their shared experiences or, if you’re feeling adventurous, even each other!
