36,000 employed teachers who have cleared the competency examination in Bihar will be given the opportunity to correct the errors in Aadhaar numbers and certificates etc. These are all teachers whose counselling could not be conducted due to various reasons. These also include the teachers who did not attend the counselling. In this regard, an important meeting of the Education Department and the Bihar School Examination Board was held on Thursday. Discussions were held on opening the board’s portal or adopting some other method to sort out the problems of the teachers. In the meeting chaired by Director of Secondary Education Yogendra Singh, it was agreed that a list of what kind of errors and problems have come to light will be drawn up. Departmental officials say that the department has taken this decision so that teachers get a chance to improve.
In this regard, discussions are on with Bihar Board officials on how a solution will be found. Since the Aadhaar numbers and certificates uploaded by the teachers during the competency test must match on the Bihar Board portal. During counselling, the certificates submitted by the teachers were matched with the certificates uploaded on the portal. In case of mismatch, the counselling remains incomplete.
The department has a clear decision that contract teachers will not be redeployed until the counselling is over. Only after this they will get the status of government teacher. The number of teachers who have cleared the competency test is 87 lakh. Of them, around 36,000 have not completed the counselling. In this regard, a large number of teachers have requested the department to give them an opportunity to correct the errors in their Aadhaar numbers and certificates.
