A 4-year-old boy among two killed in kyiv in a night attack with Russian drones and missiles

KyivAt least two people, including a four-year-old child, were killed in an overnight attack using Russian drones and missiles in the kyiv region on Sunday. Three people were also reported to have been injured in the attack.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service has recovered the bodies of a 35-year-old man and his son from under the rubble after missile fragments fell in a residential area in the suburban district of kyiv.

The head of the Kiev City Military Administration, Serhii Popko, said it was the second time kyiv had been targeted by Russian attacks this month.

Popko said the ballistic missiles missed the capital, but those suburbs were hit, while drones targeting the capital were shot down.

In Russia, the Defense Ministry said 35 drones were shot down overnight in the Kursk, Voronezh, Belgorod, Bryansk and Oryol regions.

Thirteen people were injured when a Ukrainian missile shot down by Russian air defenses hit a residential building in Kursk overnight Sunday, acting regional governor Alexei Smirnov said on Telegram.

Ukraine has not commented on the attack inside Russia, but has stepped up the pace of attacks on Russian territory in recent weeks.
