46.6 million women voters in Maharashtra, 1.2 million first-time voters in Jharkhand | News

In both Jharkhand and Maharashtra, polling is scheduled for Wednesday to ensure better voter turnout in urban areas.

In the 2019 Assembly elections in Maharashtra, 62 out of 64 urban seats polled below the state average of 60.56 per cent. The lowest voting was in the Colaba Assembly seat (40.1 per cent) in the 2024 LS polls. Six urban seats of Maharashtra were among the ten lowest voting urban constituencies in the entire country (Kalyan , Pune, Thane, North Central, South Central and South Central seats of Mumbai).
