Police have arrested five Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in the township area of ​​Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. Police had received information about this matter, after which the Anti Human Trafficking Cell of Navi Mumbai Police raided a residential building in Koparkhairane area and arrested four women and a man. Police have registered a case and started action.

According to the agency, giving information about this infiltration case, an officer of Koparkhairane police station said that during interrogation of the infiltrators, it was revealed that all of them had entered India with the help of fake documents. Police said that the age of the four women who have been arrested is between 34 and 45 years.

The four women worked as domestic help in nearby houses, while the 38-year-old man worked as a painter. Police said a case has been registered against the intruders under IPC sections for cheating and forgery as well as provisions of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules-1950 and the Foreigners Act-1946.

CAA and NRC are applicable in the country

Let us tell you that the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 is also known as CAA. This Act provides for granting citizenship to people of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian religions coming to India from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan. People of these six communities, who have entered India before 31 December 2014, will not be considered illegal immigrants and will be given Indian citizenship. The purpose of this Act is to provide citizenship to those religious minorities who are facing religious persecution in their country.
