Nalandia Five people, including a mother and her son, lost their lives due to drowning in different areas of Nalanda district in Bihar. The incident took place in the Khudaganj Noorsarai and Deepnagar police station area. The police conducted post-mortem examination of all the bodies, handed them over to their families and started investigation.

The son who went to save his mother who was drowning in the pond also died.

The first incident took place in Mustafapur village under Khudaganj police station area where a woman started drowning while washing utensils in the Kurtiya Ahra (pond) of the village; the son who went to save her also went into deep water, due to which both the mother and son drowned. The deceased have been identified as Sunita Devi, the 45-year-old wife of Satyendra Prasad, and her son Santosh Kumar. Chaos reigned in the family after the incident. As soon as the information was received, the station in-charge Jaiprakash Narayan reached the spot and started investigating the case.

An old man who was going to graze goats died

In the second incident, 74-year-old Kameshwar Manjhi, who had gone to graze goats at Ahra Khandha of Daruara village under Noorsarai police station area, drowned in the water. Relatives said that when he did not return till late in the night, they started searching for him. A dead body was found floating in the water on Sunday morning. Following this, the police were informed.

Farmer dies while washing buffalo in river

The third incident took place at Parmanand Bigha village under Noorsarai police station area. A farmer drowned while washing buffaloes in the Shasi river. The deceased is Nitish Kumar, son of Zamindar Prasad, aged 31.

Body of a young man found in the Goithwa River

While the fourth incident created a sensation in the area when the body of a youth was found in the Goithwa river of Mahanandpur village under Deepnagar police station area. The body of the youth could not be identified. The police conducted an autopsy on the body and it is kept safe for identification at Bihar Sharif Hospital.
