Congress Manifesto: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge released the party’s guarantee as part of its manifesto for the Haryana Assembly elections at the AICC headquarters in Delhi. On this occasion, Congress Organising General Secretary KC Venugopal, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, senior leader Ajay Maken, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Uday Bhan and many other leaders were present.
What is special about the 7 guarantees of Congress?
The Congress announced seven guarantees which included a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for farmers and promises of caste-based polls. Apart from this, an amount of Rs 2,000 per month for women between 18 and 60 years, a pension of Rs 6,000 per month for senior citizens, disabled and widows, two lakh government jobs, 300 units of free electricity, free treatment worth Rs. 25 lakh plots and two-room houses have been promised to the poor.
Promise to implement the old pension plan
The Congress has also promised that if it comes to power, it will implement the old pension scheme and give an LPG cylinder worth Rs 500 to every family. Voting for the 90 Haryana assembly seats will be held in a single phase on October 5 and the counting of votes will take place on October 8.
