7,279 special teachers to be appointed in Bihar, 50% reservation for women

Government Jobs: A total of 7,279 special teachers will be appointed from classes one to eight in primary schools in Bihar. Out of these, special teachers will be appointed for 5,534 posts from classes 1 to 5. While in classes six to eight, special teachers will be appointed for 1,745 posts. In this regard, the Education Department has started the process of approval of lists. Following which the necessary application will be sent to the Bihar Public Service Commission so that the appointment process can be initiated at the earliest.

Instructions sent to the DEO for list authorization

In this regard, Director of Primary Education Mithilesh Mishra has directed all District Education Officers (DEOs) to get the list approved at the earliest. The information regarding this letter issued by the Director of Primary to the district education officers has also been given to all the district officers. Actually, the clearance of the list should be done only by the district magistrate’s office.

Women will get 50% reservation

According to official information, all posts will be of basic category. A request has been made that the list be approved on a 50 per cent reservation basis. Of the total number of posts of special teachers, 50 per cent of the posts reserved will be for women. In these appointments, 50 per cent reservation by category will be granted to women.

The categories of teachers were also decided.

These special teachers will be appointed for children with special needs. In such a situation, categories of teachers have also been decided for these posts. This will include teachers trained for disabilities such as total blindness, special learning disability, multiple disabilities, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, speech and language disability, intellectual disability and autism.

Special teaching positions vacant in most schools

Currently, posts of special teachers are vacant in most of the schools in the state. It is expected that as soon as the recruitment for the post of special teacher is published along with the results of TRE-3, better teachers will be available to teach the disabled children.
