The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences or National Emergency Management System (NBEM) has published a notice explaining the standardization procedure for preparing for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination, NEET Program Results. The notice released 24 hours before the exam highlights that NBE has adopted the process currently used by AIIMS-New Delhi for several exams.
NEET The postgraduate exam will be conducted in two shifts. The notice reads, “NBEMS has adopted the process currently used by AIIMS-New Delhi for its various examinations conducted in more than one shift, including but not limited to INI-CET, in preparation of NEET-PG 2024 result.”
NBEMS has referred to the AIIMS Delhi notification published on January 20, 2023, which mentions that “the percentile score is the normalized score for the examination.”
Highlights of the standardization process
Percentile score indicates the percentage of candidates who scored EQUAL TO OR BELOW (raw scores equal to or below) that particular percentile in that examination. So, the topper (highest score) in each group (shift) will get the same percentile out of 100, which is desirable. The marks obtained between the highest and lowest scores are converted into appropriate percentiles. Percentile score is the normalized score for the examination. Percentile scores will be calculated to 7 decimal places to avoid clustering effect and reduce ties. For more details, click here.
