Cessna plane crashes into plant

A small Cessna 152 plane crashed into an industrial plant in western Rosario. Authorities are investigating the tragedy and one of the main theories is that the pilot crashed the plane on purpose. Medina did not survive.
The incident caused a stir on Friday afternoon, with viral footage showing the Cessna 152 descending towards the property.
Until March, Medina was classified as an employee, but it appears she was fired. The accident occurred at Presidente Perón 7600, which is part of the Air Liquide premises. This facility specializes in the supply and distribution of gases, such as hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen.
Possible explosions were reduced when the plane hit a concrete column. Despite the considerable risk created by the adjacent oxygen pipes and the toxic contents of the plant, no further deaths were documented. Medina was the only fatality.
Emergency medical services quickly evacuated employees from the facility and surrounding businesses. Despite acknowledging that a gasoline spill had occurred, firefighters used a tanker truck with foam to help contain the problem. Given the proximity to explosive materials, Daniel Acosta, Fire Chief of Regional Unit II, called the outcome fortunate.
At 11:50 a.m., the aircraft took off from the Aeroclub of Alvear with permission to take off, but it was not authorized to fly over the city. The investigation is being conducted by prosecutor Mariela Oliva. After the collision, the police raided Medina’s home and took electronic equipment.
At 9:39 a.m., Medina shared an image of a large explosion on his WhatsApp status, sparking rumors that it was a planned act. Friends who shared the state capture alerted the Prosecutor’s Office about this information.
Medina had 400 hours of flight time and his former flight instructor, Jorge Martinez, said he was a competent pilot. Before the tragedy, Martinez saw that Medina had complied with all the rules of the aeroclub and had had no problems with the aircraft.
Before the incident, witnesses reported seeing the plane flying strangely. One local resident reported hearing a loud explosion and seeing the plane spin around before exploding and disappearing from view.
