He said that instead of protesting, BJP leaders should put pressure on the central government to pass the bill for speedy justice. The TMC itself will support this bill. It might also get support from the Congress and the Left parties for this bill.
Rapists do not deserve to live in society.

It will also send out a message that there is no place for rapists and murderers in society. He said, “Rapists are not fit to live in society and should be killed in an encounter or hanged.”

Abhishek Banerjee has called for reform of the judicial system to stop crimes against women in cases like Hathras, Unnao, Manipur, Nirbhaya in Delhi and incidents in West Bengal. He said such crimes should be prosecuted promptly and justly. The BJP is more focused on extending the tenure of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) director through ordinances than ensuring speedy justice in rape cases.

The TMC leader praised the Bengal Police for arresting the suspect within 24 hours of the incident. He also stressed the need for strict security measures at hospitals and questioned the free movement of people after 10 pm. He also hinted at an early organisational change within the Trinamool and talked about taking action against its members who do not follow the party’s principles.
BJP said: TMC failed to provide security to women in hospitals.
