Squid Game star Lee Jung Jae accused of fraud by drama company RaemongRaein

It looks like South Korean actor Lee Jung Jae is in trouble. The Squid Game star is embroiled in a complex legal battle with a drama company over fraud and other broken promises.

Why are they suing Lee Jung Jae?

A complaint has reportedly been filed against Lee Jung Jae and Park In Kyu, former CEO of WYSIWYG Studios, under the Specific Economic Crimes Act. The complaint was reportedly filed by Kim Dong Rae, CEO of a drama production company called RaemongRaein.

According to him, the duo tricked him into believing that their involvement as major shareholders would greatly benefit the growth of their company. Acting on that belief, Kim transferred his shares to them. However, he now alleges that after acquiring the shares, Lee and Park attempted to oust him from management of the company.

In addition, Kim has also accused them of focusing solely on acquiring another listed company, Chorokbaem Media, using 20 billion won in cash from RaemongRaein.

In response to these accusations, Lee Jung Jae filed a countersuit against Kim for making false accusations and fraud.

The investigation is reportedly ongoing and both parties will be questioned by the police soon. The case has attracted much attention due to Lee Jung Jae’s global popularity.
