Asansol Railway Division Senior Commissioner Security Rahul Raj said that some important stations across Asansol Division have been alerted on the occasion of Independence Day and instructions have been given to keep security measures under stricter vigil.

The RPF and allied teams conducted a search drive at the Asansol railway station on Independence Day. During this period, all UP-Bihar trains stopping at the Asansol station were checked. The luggage of the passengers was searched. The help of women RPF officers was taken to investigate the women passengers suspected by the RPF. The help of a canine squad was also taken during the investigation. Metal detectors were also used to check large parcels at the parcel office of the station. Taxi and motorcycle stands outside the station were also searched. Commissioner Rahul Raj said that the railway track was also examined by the canine team. Let us tell you that such a search is being carried out ahead of Independence Day because anti-social elements try to carry out their nefarious designs on such occasions.
