Aapka Apna Zakir: Rajkummar Rao reveals Rs 300 was his first salary, Shraddha Kapoor recalls working at a cafe
In the second episode of Aapka Apna Zakir On August 11, popular comedian and presenter Zakir Khan welcomed Street 2 actors Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao on their show. The duo spoke about their first pay cheques and how they spent them. While Shraddha recalled the days when she worked at a coffee shop, Rajkummar spoke about how his first salary was just Rs 300.
Rajkummar Rao’s first salary
During a segment on Aapka Apna Zakir, Rajkummar Rao said, “My first earning came in my eighth, in my eighth or ninth. Ek choti bachi ko 7 saal ki hogi, usko baila shahane tha at her house and I Rs 300. milte thei mahine ke. Pehle din jab mujhe woh Rs 300 mile na cash, 50 ke 6 note (My first income came when I was in eighth or maybe ninth grade. I used to teach dance to a girl, who was probably around 7 years old, at her house. The first day I got that Rs 300 in cash, it was six notes of Rs 50 each.”
Rajkummar continued, “Woh mujhe mile thei etni khushi hui thi kyuki financial condition ghar ki zyada achi nai thi. Mei unn 300 rupay se ration khareeda. Dal de doh 150 grams, uss time mei aata tha Rs 300 mei. Chawal aata de doh. Paise bache maine desi ghee lia tha. Aaj na roti pe ghee lagake khaya jaega. Ki maza aaega aaj (When I got that money, I was so happy because our family’s financial situation was not very good. With that ₹300, I bought groceries. I ordered 150 grams of lentils, rice and whatever else I could afford. I even bought some ghee with the money left over. That day, I enjoyed a meal with ghee spread on the roti, and it felt amazing.)”
Shraddha Kapoor recalls working in a coffee shop
Shraddha Kapoor spoke about how she earned $40 while working at a coffee shop. The actress said, “My first income was because my mother and father sent me to America with great love, but he said that if the child doesn’t get spoiled then he will keep it in his pocket money. And he will keep it in the budget.” and someone said that if I wanted to earn some extra money, my father always said that one can work there, so thank God I got my first $40 check many years ago.
(My first income came when my parents lovingly sent me to America, but they didn’t want to spoil me, so they kept me on a tight budget with little pocket money. They told me that if I wanted more money, I would have to earn it myself. My father’s track record has always been extraordinary, and that has inspired me. They urged me to get a job there, so I applied at a coffee shop and got one, thank God! My first salary was $40, many years ago. I spent it all on food.)
