NIRF Ranking 2024: IIT Madras, India’s Best Engineering College, Check Top 10 Here

He Indian Institute of Technology Madras has topped the list of the latest National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Ministry of Education as the best engineering institute.

According to the NIRF ListAccording to a report released by the government on August 12, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi was ranked second and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay was ranked as the third top engineering institute.

Among the top ten engineering institutes, nine IITs have secured their spots, while National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli is the only non-IIT university.

According to NIRF rankings, IIT-Kanpur is ranked fourth, IIT-Kharagpur is ranked fifth, IIT-Roorkee is ranked sixth, IIT Guwahati is ranked seventh and IIT-Hyderabad is ranked eighth.

National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli has been ranked ninth, while IIT-(Banaras Hindu University)-Varanasi has been ranked tenth.

Senior management institutions:

In it Classification of NIRF management institutionsThe Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad retained its top spot as India’s best business school, followed by IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, IIT Delhi and IIM Calcutta.

Additionally, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai was ranked sixth, followed by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore, the Xavier School of Management in Jamshedpur and IIT Bombay.

NIRF 2024 Overall Ranking:

In the overall ranking of the much-awaited ninth edition of NIRF Rankings 2024, IIT-Madras secured the first spot, while Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru secured the second position.

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay was ranked third, followed by Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

This year, NIRF introduced three new categories: open universities, specialized universities and state-funded universities. NIRF also plans to introduce sustainability as a new category in 2025.

On Monday, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the ranking of 13 categories at an event at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
