Shreya, 20, who lived with her parents in a rented house, committed suicide by hanging herself. It is said that Shreya had gone into depression for the last few months due to the problem of hair fall.
Dhanoj Kumar Singh, a resident of Usraulia village in Chitbaragaon of Ballia district, lives with his family in a rented house in Pragyapuri under Lalpur Pandeypur police station area in Varanasi and works at a nearby gutkha factory.
Dhanoj Kumar Singh has two daughters and a son. The second daughter Shreya, 20, was working as a floor manager in a megastore. For the past few months, she was very worried about her hair fall problem.
On the day of the incident, the younger brother had left the house for work and Shreya was alone at home. When he returned, he saw that the main door of the house was open. On entering, he saw that Shreya was hanging from the fan with the help of her dupatta and her room was locked from inside. This information was immediately conveyed to the police and other relatives. The police reached the spot, pulled Shreya out of the noose and sent her to the hospital, where the doctors declared her dead.
Father Dhanuj Singh told people close to him that his daughter was suffering from hair fall problem for the last few months.
At the same time, Inspector Rajkumar of Lalpur-Pandeypur police station said that preliminary investigation so far has revealed that the girl was troubled by the problem of hair fall for the past few months and had also undergone many treatments but did not get any benefit. At the same time, the financial condition of the house was also not very good as both the sisters and the parents earned their living by working.
However, investigation so far has revealed that the girl might have taken that step due to hair loss. He said the post-mortem report is yet to come.
