Maruti Suzuki Fronx manufactured in India will now be sold in Japan. The company has started exporting this car to Japan. Maruti Suzuki India on Tuesday said it has started exporting its Frontex sports utility vehicle to Japan.
More than 1600 Fronx exported
The country’s largest automobile manufacturer said in a statement that the first consignment of over 1,600 vehicles has left for Japan from Pipavav port in Gujarat. The FrontX will be Maruti Suzuki’s first SUV to be launched in Japan. The company produces this model exclusively at its Gujarat plant.

Baleno was exported to Japan in 2016
The Frontex is the second model from Maruti Suzuki to be exported to Japan. Earlier in 2016, the Baleno was exported to Japan. Commenting on this, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Japan is one of the most advanced and quality-conscious automotive markets in the world. Our exports to Japan are a testament to Maruti Suzuki’s ability to build world-class vehicles that epitomise the latest technology, exceptional performance and internationally recognised standards of quality and safety.”

The Fronx was launched in India on 24 April 2023 after being unveiled globally at the 2023 Auto Expo. The base model of Maruti Franks is priced in India at Rs. 7.51 Lakh and the top model is priced at Rs. 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom average).
Maruti Suzuki Fronx has achieved a new milestone by crossing 1.5 lakh unit sales in India since its launch in 2023. The Baleno-based hatchback has achieved this new milestone in just 14 months of sales.
