Jaipur: It has been raining for a week now in many areas including Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur. Due to heavy rainfall, flood-like conditions are prevailing in many areas. Schools in Jaipur have been closed for two consecutive days due to waterlogging and torrential rains. As per forecasts of the Met Office, this spell of rains may continue on Wednesday i.e. August 14. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places in eastern Rajasthan on August 13 and 14. As per forecasts of the Met Department, the district administration will decide to close schools in Jaipur. However, due to sunshine from afternoon to evening, the possibility of holidays in schools is said to be less.

In Nagaur, Sikar, Ajmer and Beawar districts, there is a strong possibility of intermittent light to moderate rain with thunderstorms at some places and heavy rain at some places.

Heavy rains possible in eastern Rajasthan till August 16

According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, the rainy season will continue in eastern Rajasthan till August 15 and 16. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall at some places. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions in western Rajasthan till August 15.
