Apollo Hospitals Q1 results: Profit up 83% YoY to Rs 305 crore, revenue up 15%

Leading hospital chain Apollo Hospitals reported an 83% growth in its consolidated net income revenue at Rs 305 crore for the first quarter ended June 2024. It was Rs 167 crore in the year-ago period.

Revenue Operating income in the reporting period increased 15 per cent year-on-year to Rs 5,086 crore, from Rs 4,418 crore in the last quarter of the year.

The company reported a EBITDA Growth of 33% year-on-year to Rs 675 crore in the April-June 2024 period. This compares to Rs 509 crore in the year-ago period.

By segment, healthcare services revenue grew 15% YoY to Rs 2,637 crore and EBITDA of the business also increased 15% to Rs 622 crore. PAT of the segment stood at Rs 328 crore, a growth of 24% YoY. As of June 2024, Apollo Hospitals Apollo Health and Lifestyle had 7,942 operational beds across the network (excluding AHLL and managed beds). Overall hospital occupancy was at 68% as against 62% in the year-ago period, helped by a sharp rise in patient flows across hospitals with inpatient (IP) volume increasing by 11% and new outpatient (OP) enrollments by 13%. Revenue from the Apollo Health and Lifestyle business rose 15% year-on-year to Rs 366 crore, while loss was at Rs 10.2 crore. EBITDA for the segment rose 33% year-on-year to Rs 30.9 crore.

The diagnostic business has an overall network of more than 2,300 centres spread across 300 cities and serves more than 15,000 customers daily.

Apollo HealthCo, the digital healthcare and omnichannel pharmacy platform, signed a binding agreement to raise equity capital of nearly $300 million (Rs 2,475 crore) from private equity investor, Advent International during the quarter.

Offline pharmacy distribution revenue stood at Rs 1,837 crore in Q1FY25, while digital platform revenue stood at Rs 2.45 crore. Health Co’s overall revenue stood at Rs 2,082 crore, representing a year-on-year growth of 15%.
