“Har Ghar Tiranga campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi “India’s inauguration ceremony two years ago became not only an expression of patriotism but also a symbol of our commitment to making India a great and developed nation by 2047,” Shah stressed.
“When the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi is committed to becoming a developed nation, citizens, especially the youth, must come forward and work towards making the country number one in the field they work in,” he stressed.
Shah said that as the country enters its 78th year of independence on August 15, no house, building, office or vehicle should be left without the tiranga (tricolour) flying over them.
The Lok Sabha MP from Gandhinagar said that the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign were launched here with an aim to inculcate the feeling of patriotism among the people of Gujarat.
The yatra covered a distance of around 5 km from Kesari Nandan Chowk in Odhav locality of Ahmedabad to Khodiyar Temple in Nikol area.
Shah said Modi launched ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in 2021 with three objectives in mind – to remind all citizens, especially the youth, about the history of freedom struggle, to create awareness about India’s achievements in the last 75 years and to connect 130 million people with its development journey to make the country number one in all spheres in the next 25 years.
On the occasion, the Union Minister also paid rich tributes to freedom fighter Bhikaji Cama on her birth anniversary and asked people to remember the sacrifices made by the heroes of the independence movement and honour them.
“Many similar events will be organised in the next 25 years to realise the concept presented to 130 crore people of the country by Prime Minister Modi that when India completes 100 years of independence on August 15, 2047, it should become a developed and great nation and lead the world in all spheres,” Shah emphasised.
Shah recalled the achievements of the Modi government in the last 10 years and said they have “amazed the world”.
Unfurling the tricolour flag at the South Pole of the Moon, giving a befitting response to enemies through surgical and air strikes and administering double doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 130 million people using technology are some of the achievements of the Modi government, he said.
Shah said people should join the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign by unfurling the tricolour flag at their homes, offices and factories and taking selfies as per the call made by the prime minister to inculcate the sense of patriotism.
He noted that Modi has also appealed to people to popularise the use of khadi (hand-spun and woven textile).
After kicking off the citywide event, Shah, along with Gujarat Prime Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in the yatra by walking some distance along the route holding the national flag.
