‘I warn the nation…’: VP Dhankhar calls for vigilance against ‘sinister forces’ threatening Bharat’s stability

New Delhi: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar On Tuesday, he urged citizens to be on alert against “sinister forces with pernicious designs whose only motto is to destabilise Bharat and impede our progress”.

Addressing citizens before giving the starting signal Har Ghar Tiranga Cycle Rally of Bharat Mandapam Speaking in Delhi, the vice president said: “Some people cannot digest the rapid pace of our development. They want to create obstacles, create instability.”

Recognizing the symbolic significance of the tricolor flag, he urged citizens to draw inspiration from it to unite against adverse forces and appealed to all fellow citizens to keep the interest of the nation above all in all situations.

Stressing the importance of the ‘Every tricolor home‘ campaign, launched in 2021, Vice President of Dhankhar He said the initiative aims to awaken a deep sense of patriotism and national pride among all Indians, fostering a spirit of unity. He also highlighted the evolution of the campaign towards a ‘jan andolan’ on Tuesday.

Highlighting the deeper significance of the Indian tricolour, the Vice President stressed that the tricolour is more than a flag – it is a symbol of our sovereignty and collective identity.

The Vice President stressed that Indian identity is in our blood and asserted that questioning our Indian identity is like questioning our existence. He urged the masses to always uphold the honour, respect and pride of the tricolour flag.

Underlining the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in our struggle for independence, Vice President Dhankhar highlighted Netaji’s act of hoisting the Indian flag in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on December 30, 1943, which marked a historic challenge against British rule. He said that Netaji’s legacy continues to be celebrated annually on Parakram Diwas and is immortalised by the statue at Kartavya Path.

Vice President Dhankhar lauded the nation’s efforts to honour heroes of India’s freedom struggle during the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations. “We remember all the personalities who contributed to our freedom struggle and every corner of the country has recognised and honoured them, including prominent figures like Birsa Munda Ji who made significant sacrifices at a young age for the nation,” he said.

Highlighting India’s transformative journey on the world stage and its unwavering commitment to peace and progress, Vice President Dhankhar noted that foreign institutions now look to India as a shining example, demonstrating the nation’s rapid economic growth and global influence. He stressed that India is no longer just a country with potential and possibilities, but a nation on the rise like never before. “Our rise is unstoppable and will make us a developed nation by 2047,” he said.

Bidding farewell to the participants, Vice President Dhankhar said, “The waving of my green flag is not just a signal to launch this Tiranga cycle rally. It signals the beginning of an integral facet of our marathon march towards the vision of Viksit Bharat in the centenary of our independence.”
