The Congress also passed a resolution in today’s session stating that a nationwide campaign will be undertaken to ensure the protection of the Indian Constitution in letter and spirit, particularly with regard to the provisions of economic, social and political justice. In the coming weeks, the Congress will organise public mobilisation campaigns on these three issues across the country.

In its resolution, the party also called on the Government of India to take all possible measures to ensure that targeted attacks on religious minorities and their places of worship in Bangladesh are stopped and to ensure that they are allowed to lead lives of safety, dignity and harmony.

The meeting also expressed deep shock over the devastating landslide tragedy in Wayanad and expressed condolences. It reiterated Rahul Gandhi’s demand that the event be declared a national disaster.
