The chief guest at the function was Atanu Bhowmik, Director-in-charge of Rourkela Steel Plant and the guest of honour was DIG Neeti Shekhar. This function is held every year on the birthday of Goswami Tulsidas, the author of Shri Ramcharit Manas, and his biography and writings are briefly discussed. The programme began with the worship of Ram and Sita at the Manas temple. President of the organisation Siyakant Singh was the chief guest and Secretary Rajkumar Shukla welcomed the guest of honour by draping a shawl over him. The chief guest Atanu Bhowmik said that he spent his childhood in Rourkela. The Rourkela plant has a long association with the organisation. He recalled the memories of Ravana Dahan celebrated at Nehru Maidan on Vijayadashami day, which was earlier organised by the Council for years.
