New CCTV footage of Suga driving under the influence released

On August 13, a South Korean media outlet Yonhap News released new CCTV footage of Suga’s drunk driving incident. In the grainy footage, a person (assumed to be the BTS star) can apparently be seen making an abrupt stop before falling off his electric scooter. Neither BTS’s label nor the police have confirmed as of yet whether the footage is from Suga’s drunk driving incident.

Prior to this, a South Korean media outlet had released CCTV footage of the alleged incident on August 7. The CCTV footage, which apparently captured Yoongi riding an electric scooter while sitting down while drunk, had caused quite a stir among Korean netizens and international fans.

Suga’s drunk driving incident

On August 6, police arrested Suga for driving an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol.

Following the incident, the rapper wrote an apology note. “Last night after drinking at dinner, I rode an electric scooter home. I broke traffic laws because I easily thought it was a close distance and didn’t recognize that riding an electric scooter after drinking is not allowed. While parking my electric scooter at the front gate in front of my house, I fell by myself and there was a police officer nearby and as a result of drinking, my license was revoked and I was fined,” he wrote, before adding, “I bow my head and apologize to everyone.”
