These Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies are like chocolate chip cookies and banana bread getting married. They’re perfectly soft, nutty, and deliciously banana-like. They take less than 30 minutes to make and less than 12 minutes to bake. Quick and delicious!

Is there anything better than a perfect classic chocolate chip cookie? Hardly. But this one comes pretty close, let me tell you. It really is like a mix between my easy banana bread and a chocolate chip cookie. They are similar to my Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies–Truly divine!

  1. Ripe bananas: This should come as no surprise, as they give the cookies a soft texture and delicious banana flavor.
  1. Brown sugar: This is an absolute requirement because it gives these cookies a minty, molasses flavor and a chewy texture.
  2. Nuts: I love banana bread with nuts. I love chocolate chip cookies with nuts. That’s why I’m including them here.
  3. Vanilla extract – you can use store bought or Homemade vanilla extractHelps with the banana flavor.

How to make banana chocolate chip cookies

  1. Mash the banana. I find it easier to do this on a cutting board than in a bowl. The flat surface really helps make this process very quick.
  2. Add the brown sugar and sugar and blend until smooth. Don’t be afraid to break up the banana pieces as you blend.
  3. Next, add the melted butter, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add the flour and, using a spatula, incorporate it.
  5. Add the chocolate and chopped nuts. Mix again.
  6. And then chill the dough for 1 hour. This will prevent it from spreading too much.
  7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Scoop out a ball of dough and roll it between your palms.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. It should have medium golden brown edges and tops. They will fall a bit as they cool.

I like to use medium ripe bananas, not super ripe brown bananas, but the ones that have those little brown freckles and spots.
