Bollywood actors Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwari’s film ‘Laila Majnu’ was first released in theatres in 2018. At that time, this Sajid Ali-directed film was not successful in terms of box office collections. Imtiaz Ali, along with Ekta Kapoor, re-released this film once again on the big screen last Friday. The re-release of the film has been a huge success. For the uninitiated, the film was written and co-produced by Imtiaz Ali.
Hundreds of thousands of tickets were sold in four days
In 2018, only 150,000 tickets were sold for ‘Laila Majnu’ but during the re-release of the film, 200,000 tickets were sold in just four days. Ektaa Kapoor expressed her happiness by sharing a post about it. She shared a video from the film and wrote, ‘The wait is over, Laila Majnu’s time has come. On the first release, 150,000 tickets were sold in a lifetime. On its re-release, 200,000 in four days, Monday’s figure is higher than Friday’s. Indeed, double kudos to the team.’

In 2018, the film collected only Rs 2.18 crore in theatres. After the re-release last Friday, “Laila Majnu” collected a good amount of Rs 30 lakh, which was also a result of low ticket prices due to the National Film Lover’s Day. On Saturday, there was a spike in the film’s earnings. Laila Majnu collected Rs 5 lakh on Saturday, while on Sunday the film reached the Rs 1 crore mark. The film collected Rs 70 lakh on the fourth day i.e. Monday.
Receiving immense love from the audience
Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwari’s film ‘Laila Majnu’ is receiving immense love from the audience after its re-release. A large number of audiences are flocking to the theatres to watch the film. Major part of the shooting of this film has been done in Jammu and Kashmir. The film was produced by Imtiaz’s ex-wife Preeti and Ektaa Kapoor. This film marked the Bollywood debut for both actors.
