On August 13, a poster that looked like Prime Video’s release announcement regarding the streaming date of Kalki 2898 AD started going viral on social media. However, it was found to be a fake poster and the streaming service did not release any information regarding the pan-Indian streaming date of the film. Fans, who were excited about the OTT release of the Nag Ashwin-directed film, will have to wait for an official update from the streaming service or the makers regarding the same.
Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD seems to have broken the prevailing trend of films releasing on OTT after a mandatory four-week gap. The multilingual release hit the big screens on June 27 and has grossed over Rs 600 crore in India, according to a Box Office India report.

Kalki 2898 AD is a blend of the Hindu epic Mahabharata and science fiction. The big-budget film is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and was released in six languages - Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and English. Kalki 2898 AD, mounted on a massive budget of ₹600 crore, features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan. The second part of the film is expected to begin shooting soon.
Previously titled Project K, the film is reportedly the most expensive feature film in the history of Indian cinema.
