Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and party national general secretary Sandeep Pathak held a review meeting with AAP legislators, Lok Sabha MPs and ministers (from Punjab) in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang said, “Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and national general secretary Sandeep Pathak held a meeting with AAP MPs, Lok Sabha MPs and ministers (from Punjab) to discuss how the government and organisation will function in the coming days. The status of the Chief Minister’s plans and their implementation was reviewed. The Chief Minister has given guidance on how people’s feedback can help us.”

He also said that there is always room for improvement.

“The main focus of today’s meeting was the progress in the implementation of the plans. Our legislators will visit every village and every household so that the plans of the state government can be notified and feedback can be received for improvement,” he added.

He also said that in the past two years, much progress has been made in terms of employment opportunities and good governance.

Earlier, CM Mann responded to Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s letter on alleged attacks on engineers and contractors in Jalandhar and Ludhiana and said local police have arrested the accused in both cases.

He further conveyed the reasons behind the attacks and said that the first incident was a result of over-excavation of earth by the NHAI contractor while the second incident was a result of non-payment of financial dues by the contractor to its sub-contractor.

The letter written by Punjab Chief Minister Mann reads, “In both the cases referred to by you, FIRs were promptly registered by the local police in accordance with the relevant legal provisions. Moreover, in both the cases, arrests have been made. However, on investigation, it has been found that one incident was a result of over-excavation of earth by the concessionaire/contractor of NHAI. The second incident was a result of non-payment of financial obligations by the concessionaire/contractor to its sub-contractor. Therefore, both the cases were due to causes attributable to the concessionaire/contractor.”

On August 10, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari wrote a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the alleged attacks on engineers and contractors in Jalandhar and Ludhiana.
